Tulsa OK – September 29, 2020 –
The Sixth Annual Westby Classic was held at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit over the weekend in remembrance of the life and accomplishments of Dane "The Wolverine #00" Westby. Several members of the Westby Racing team attended the event, including team owner and Dane's dad Tryg Westby, Dane's sister Scarlett, and the team's MotoAmerica Superbike rider Mathew Scholtz.
Also attending on behalf of Westby Racing were Alonzo and Lacy Contreras, along with Mathew's fiancée Kiara. While Mathew signed autographs for the fans, the rest of the team members passed out free T-shirts and other team swag, while greeting all the riders, families, and fans that were in attendance.
Following Dane’s passing in 2015, the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association, Inc. (CMRA) began the annual tradition of the Westby Classic, which is normally held at the CMRA's first visit to Hallett Motor Racing Circuit each year. Hallett was Dane’s home track. This year's event was postponed till last weekend due to COVID-19.
