Yamalube/Westby Racing’s Tryg Westby To Ride Lap Of Honor At Circuit Of The Americas; Party And Silent Auction Also Announced To Benefit National Down Syndrome Society
Tulsa, OK - April 7, 2015 – Tryg Westby, principal of Yamalube/Westby Racing and father of the late Dane Westby, will ride a Lap of Honor at The Circuit of the Americas (COTA) on Friday, April 10 at 6:45 PM. Tryg will be joined at the front of the scheduled Cycle Corral Parade Lap by 1993 500cc Grand Prix World Champion Kevin Schwantz.
“I’ll be wearing my old leathers from my racing days back in the 1980s,” Tryg said. “And I’m looking forward to taking the lap aboard my son’s #00 Yamalube/Westby Racing Yamaha YZF-R1 Superstock 1000 racebike. Dane ran the fastest lap (out of all Superstock 1000 riders who participated) at the MotoAmerica Test at COTA a couple of weeks ago, and I’m filled with pride and emotion about riding the bike at COTA in his memory.”
